10 ”e-Ink screen and pen, here is Amazon Kindle Scribe. Born for the reader and writer

Amazon today announced Kindle Scribe, the new generation of Kindle that combines reading with writing.Like every Kindle, Scribe is built around a particular e-Ink panel, and in this case we are faced with the World’s first 10.2-inch 300 ppi Paperwhite screen with anti-glare and front light technology.

The novelty is obviously the pen, or the pens as the user can order the product in two different versions: the pens do not need to be refilled and the sensation, thanks also to the surface treatment of the panel, is to be in front of a real notebook. paper, at least according to Amazon.

The pen, importantly, does not need to be refilled and is magnetically attached to the side. As we said Kindle Scribe provides two options for choosing the pen: Basic and Premium. Both offer the same writing-side performance, but the Premium Pen also includes an eraser on top and a customizable shortcut button. With this button you can select the eraser or highlighter function, or create a new sticky note.

The “sticky note” is one of the software innovations implemented in the operating system: you can take notes and notes on books, but these will be automatically organized in an area so as to keep the pages free and legible.

You can also write a diary, or use one of the ready-made templates to take notes and annotations. Everything will be automatically saved in the cloud, and starting from next year all notes and pages written in pen will be synchronized and also accessible from the Kindle app on other devices.

As with the other eReaders, the Send-to-Kindle function has been extended to be able to send personal documents via email to the Kindle from a computer or smartphone and then annotate data directly on PDF files. Thus, documents can be signed, forms completed and Word documents corrected with marginal notes. From the beginning of 2023 it will be possible to send documents to Kindle Scribe directly from Microsoft Word.

Kindle Scribe is available for pre-order today starting at $ 369.99 and will be available in tungsten gray with 16GB, 32GB or 64GB storage. The 16 GB version will be available for purchase with a Premium pen for 399.99 euros. The 32GB and 64GB versions will only have premium pen and will cost 419 euros and 449 euros.
