As Deadline reported in recent weeks, the negotiations for the renewal of the sixth season of The Resident And 9-1-1 have been at the center of many debates. No particular mention was made in the pre-recorded video that opened Fox’s Upfront. The main problems, which were then evidently resolved, were caused by a technical and economic issue. The two series, in fact, are produced by 20th Television, to which the Fox network is no longer connected, after the Disney takeover. Ultimately, however, Fox Entertainment managed to include both in its programming 9-1-1 is The Resident. Furthermore, the spinoff was also renewed 9-1-1-: Lone Star. However, it was not possible to renew Pivoting, despite having made decent numbers on Hulu.
In this regard, the CEO of Fox, Charlie Collier, explained that “the company is perhaps the only one to have advertising as a central hub”, to mark the difference with the well-known paid streaming platforms.
