One of the actresses of the triumphant HBO series Euphoria seems to be following in Zendaya’s footsteps into the world of blockbusterss. The young Sydney Sweeneywho plays the character of Cassie Howard, has indeed been hired for the next installment of the Marvel series by Sony, Mrs Web, as Julia Carpenter, aka Spider-Woman. The actress, perfume muse of Giorgio Armani, has the wind in her sails, since she will soon be appearing in the excellent Realityin cinemas on August 16, and that she will also play the role of the mythical Barbarella.
With as headliner dakota johnson (Charlize Theron and Amy Adams had previously been considered), Madame Webnew female adaptation of comic book characters Spiderman, directed by SJ Clarkson (Orange is the new Black, Succession, Ugly Betty) and scheduled for February 2024, already seems to have a five-star cast. In fact, we will discover Tahar Rahim, Emma Roberts (Scream Queens, Holidate), Zosia Mamet (Girls), Celeste O’Connor (A Good Person), Isabela Mercred, Mike Epps and Adam Scott.

Although the plot of the film is still kept secret, the character of Madame Web is not an unknown entity. First appeared in 1980 in the book The Amazing Spider-Man #210, Cassandra Webb aka Madame Web is an elderly, blind, paralyzed mutant woman with a gift of clairvoyance and telepathy regarding all things spider-heroes. Connected to a spider’s web, it is during a moment of trance that she is able to send visions and advice. She is very protective of the character of Spider-Man.
Madame Web should be released in theaters in February 2024.
