Collette DiVitto lives in the United States. The woman managed to graduate from the university in North Carolina. Unfortunately, in the eyes of potential employers, Down’s syndrome was a clear obstacle in employing DiVitto. The girl showed, however, that if we really want something, we should fight for it. Surrender is the worst thing you can do on your way to making your dreams come true, so … the 26-year-old decided to take matters into her own hands!
A childhood dream come true!
Collette DiVitto had dreamed of having her own bakery or confectionery almost since she was a child. Her mother, Rosemary Alfredo, taught her how to run the business. For a young, persistent woman, five years were enough for the company to be a huge success!
Professional success translated into Collette’s personal life, which proved to the whole world that people with Down’s syndrome are also valuable and in fact … they can do anything! Within five years of founding the company, it had accumulated she in the account of $ 1.2 million.
It is worth noting that the goal of the ambitious American was not only to set up a company, but also to give people with Down syndrome a chance. Today she employs 15 of them herself!
