The Bradley Cooper-directed movie “A Star is Born,” in which he also starred opposite Lady Gaga, hit theaters in late 2018. The production became the black horse of the Oscar the following year. Although she received only one statuette out of all eight nominations (for the song “Shallow”), she was nominated for an Academy Award in almost all major categories – including Best Picture, Best Actress and Best Leading Actor. Although the story presented in the film is quite simple, it hit the hearts of viewers and critics all over the world.
“A Star is Born”. Is this a true story?
The film tells the story of Ally, who has a beautiful voice, who accidentally meets a famous musician, Jackson, who is making a career. A man helps her become successful in the music industry, and a feeling is born between them. While the story is simple and seems very credible, “A Star is Born” is not based on specific events. It was first put on paper by William A. Wellman, Robert Carson, Dorothy Parker, and Alan Campbell in 1937. At that time, Janet Gaynor and Fredric March starred in the first screen adaptation of the film.
The first remake of the production was made in 1954, and the main role was played by one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Judy Garland. The third installment of “A Star is Born”, one of the most famous, was released in 1976 and, like Lady Gaga, brought an Oscar for Barbara Streisand, who played the lead role. In her case, the statuette was awarded to the song “Evergreen”.
