A strong candidate to replace the Pope. He may have been Nagelsmann’s successor to Soccer

The future of coach Marek Papszun is still unclear. The trainer from Rakowa Częstochowa has been working in the club for six years, but his contract ends at the end of the current season. An increasingly realistic scenario is that he will be associated with Legia Warsaw, and the authorities of Raków will face the task of finding a new coach.

– Just as we scout the players on an ongoing basis, the scouting of people to strengthen the club, including coaches and people for the training staff, is also ongoing. We are constantly listening to what is happening on the market and wondering how to strengthen ourselves. In the case of Marek Papszun, it is so specific that he was usually one of the people who also participated in this scouting – said president Wojciech Cygan in response to whether the club is prepared for the coach’s departure.

There is a candidate to replace the Pope. He was to be Nagelsmann’s successor

So the search continues and “Przegląd Sportowy” informed about their first results. Two names are among the candidates to replace the coach. The first is 31-year-old Dawid Szwarga who is one of the Pope’s assistants. The young coach may, however, go with him to Legia.

The second option is Aleksiej Szpilewski, who was previously connected with Lech Poznań and Legia Warszawa. The 33-year-old Belarusian used to run Dinamo Brest and Kairat Almaty in the past. He worked for the second-tier Erzgebirge Aue during the season, but his stay with the club ended in only eight matches, none of which he won. Szpilewski is an interesting candidate mainly because of his past. As a coach, he was educated at RB Leipzig, and Jacek Góralski, who had the opportunity to work with him, admired his skills. In the past it was said that he was the “prodigy of RB Leipzig” and it was foretold that he might be Julian Nagelsmann’s successor.

Interestingly, the new trainer would come to Raków in winter and watch Marek Papszun’s work for six months. This would give him more time to get to know the players and think about any summer buffs.
