Christopher Preciado, 19, was charged with murder and his father, Ramon Preciado, 53, for allegedly helping his son move the couple’s home, police said. He was charged with corpse abuse. Bexar County Sheriff’s online records earlier Thursday did not indicate whether the men had attorneys, and San Antonio police did not immediately respond to calls and emails.

As they loaded him into a patrol car Wednesday night, reporters asked Ramón Preciado if he felt any remorse.

“Don’t you regret that you lied? You didn’t even know what happened. You just made things up like you always do,” Preciado said.

His son made no comment as police escorted him to another vehicle.

Moscoso said prosecutors could bring more charges against the men, who he said were the only suspects in the murder. He said information found in the car about Savannah Soto’s cellphone led them to another vehicle seen in surveillance footage, which authorities released last week in the hope someone will recognize the person in the video .

That car led police to a home where they found the father and son. He said Ramon Preciado opened the door and cooperated with the investigation.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled both deaths were homicides caused by gunshot wounds to the head. Moscoso did not specify where the murder occurred before the couple was taken to the apartment complex.

Soto’s family told KENS-TV that Soto was scheduled to undergo labor induction at the hospital the weekend before Christmas. But her mother said she got no response when she knocked on the door of Soto’s apartment in suburban Leon Valley.

The family searched the area on Christmas night and Leon Valley police issued a missing persons alert.
