It’s been over five years since A$AP Rocky released his latest album “Testing”.
A$AP RockyThe 33-year-old has had a pretty hectic few months, as the rapper was unexpectedly arrested while returning from a trip from Barbados to LAX for his alleged involvement in a West Hollywood shooting. He recently welcomed his first child with his girlfriend, Rihannawho has been on bed rest since giving birth a few weeks ago.
As Rih relaxes at home and adjusts to her new role as a mother, her boyfriend is out on the streets with his crew, going live on Instagram to announce new music to his fans. During the broadcast, the New York native was sitting in the backseat of a car, strolling with friends, playing a previously unreleased track, boasting a production that can only be described as incredible.
As the website HipHopDX notes, the preview of what Rocky has been working on lines up perfectly with comments he made during an interview with DAZED, revealing that his sound has been a lot more experimental lately.
“Yeah, I have my friends looking crazy when they hear this shit,” said the father of one of the spectators at one point in the conversation, as a child’s voice could be heard screaming with the music playing behind him. Although A$AP Rocky has shared “DMB” and now the announcement of new singles, a release date for Rocky’s fourth studio album (after 2018’s Testing) has yet to be revealed.
Furthermore, A$AP Rocky, revealed that there is a lack of maturity in rap these days compared to the beginning and middle of the year. During a recent interview with Jerrod Carmichael, the rapper was asked how he feels about “getting old in rap.” “Rap is in its teens and has been stuck in it since Soulja Boy“, he explained.
