IThe cash-and-clicks machine continues to spin for ABBA, whose hit ‘Dancing Queen’ appeared on Spotify’s ‘Billions Club’ this week alongside diva Whitney Houston’s ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)’. By passing the one billion listen mark for the first time on the streaming platform (with 1,000,084,544 and 1,000,488,898 respectively on the clock), both songs integrate a narrow circle of elected officials into Spotify’s mileage catalog. Of the roughly 168 million songs available, only 446 titles can claim to have more than a billion today, according to the company’s indications on its information page — that is, roughly 1 in 2.6 million. Promotion with the respect that comes with it.
