Pre-built PCs have gotten a lot more attractive in recent months as graphics cards cost abstract money and kits usually save a little penny. Therefore, there has been a situation when it is more profitable to choose a branded folding box than to complete all the elements yourself. Models from ACTINA have appeared in our pages several times, performing very well, and recently the manufacturer has slightly improved its configurations. How are ACTINA PBA computers doing now? We got a set with an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card, which is quite a popular and proven tandem, but the devil is in the details …

ACTINA is a brand of desktop computers with nearly 20 years of experience, owned by ACTION, one of the largest distributors of electronic equipment in Poland. The manufacturer’s portfolio includes the Sferis sales network and the gram.pl portal, so we are talking about a serious player with a solid background. In addition to strictly gaming sets, the company also offers server and network equipment, but it is machines for players that have recently gained the greatest popularity. This is probably due to the company’s enormous activity in the e-sports sections, because ACTINA and several partners have launched, among others The Polish Esport Cup is aimed at amateurs of digital entertainment. The manufacturer regularly expands the portfolio with new sets, adjusting the configurations to the current conditions, although the last months were just very hard. After all, the quality of the sales offer has not deteriorated, and the hero of today’s review will be an example of this.
The new version of the ACTINA PBA computer, based on the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X and GeForce RTX 3060, is another step in the right direction. There are a lot of changes to the components that should be considered a plus.
Although the reviewed ACTINA computer belongs to the PBA (Powered by ASUS) family, contrary to the nomenclature, it uses rather few components from this manufacturer. The first is the ASUS TUF Gaming B550-Plus motherboard, providing a good foundation for the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X processor. Compared to the previous sets, there has been a noticeable progress, because so far the rather poor ASUS Prime B550M-K was used, which I pointed out in the previous test. The second element from the ASUS portfolio is the TUF GT301 case, which is a regular visitor to many sets from ACTINA. The graphics card is a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 Gaming OC – the company probably used this model because it is available in the largest quantities and at the best price (at least compared to the competition). The three base components therefore look quite sensible, especially the insertion of a better motherboard is happy, because manufacturers often save on such elements.

How to choose computer components well? What is important when buying a ready-made kit? A purchasing guide based on the Actina offer
The use of 16 GB of Patriot Viper Steel 3600 MHz CL17 memory can be classified as a plus, as the capacity and parameters have been selected optimally for the AM4 platform. Previously, the manufacturer was using 16GB of the Patriot Viper 4 Blackout 3600MHz CL18 kit, so little progress was made again. Fortunately, there are more positive changes – the cooling system of the SilentiumPC Fera 3 processor has been replaced with the SilentiumPC Fera 5 Dual Fan, definitely more efficient and at the same time quieter than its predecessor. Another modification concerns the power supply, where the SilentiumPC Supremo FM2 Gold 650 W was replaced with a fully modular be quiet! Pure Power 11 FM 650 W. The SSD, however, remained the standard SATA Crucial MX500 model, with a standard capacity of 1 TB. To sum up – in relation to the recently reviewed ACTINA PBA computer, which was also based on the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X processor, there were a lot of seemingly minor but significant changes. It remains to check if everything is properly put together and works as intended …
