Adam “Nergal” Darski was brought to trial. He spoke about the Polish authorities and the Church

During the hearing before the District Court in Gdańsk, explanations were given by Adam “Nergal” Darski (he agrees to the publication of full data – PAP). The trial before the court concerns materials promoting the band’s concert tour entitled “Rzeczpospolita Niewierna”, which took place between September 30 and October 10, 2016.

Included in the materials, incl. on the posters, the graphics depicted a white eagle without a crown: instead of it, devilish horns grew out of the bird’s head. The eagle was inscribed with two snakes, skulls and an inverted cross. The eagle was placed on a red background, and the whole style was reminiscent of the Polish coat of arms. Above the eagle there is also the inscription “Rzeczpospolita Niewierna”. The prosecutor’s office accused Darski and two of his associates of insulting the Polish emblem.

Adam “Nergal” Darski said that the title “Rzeczpospolita Niewierna” refers to the place where we live, which is the Polish pluralistic society.

“Today’s Poland is at the forefront of one thing on the map of the civilized world, and it is the galloping secularization of society. I deeply believe that people open their eyes. That in the face of massive ecclesiastical crimes, they turn away from it, making their own, autonomous, sovereign decisions. knees, because they are more comfortable and they go in their own direction, deciding about their own lives “- explained Darski in the court.

“Nergal” emphasized that, as a Pole and a fellow citizen, he identifies himself with all those who think freely and sympathize with the ideological tendency towards freedom. He added that he did not do any intentional harm to anyone.

“It was not my intention to insult anyone’s holiness, but on the contrary, to emphasize that Poland is a free country, where there is a place for people under the sign of the cross and for those who do not identify with it, and even turn away from it. For now, it is legal. and the symbol of this was the “Rzeczpospolita Niewierna” route “- said Darski.

The Behemoth leader added that we live in a society where there are people opposed to the prevailing religious mainstream and added that statistically this is about half of the population declaring “infidelity”. Darski also emphasized that the title “Rzeczpospolita Niewierna” refers to faith.

“I have said many times that I am proud of where I come from and the fact that I feel Polish, it does not mean that I must be on my way, but on the contrary. they pair with the Church. They are trying to create a monoparty and monopoly system “- commented” Nergal “.
