Al-Khelaifi scandal, involved in a kidnapping and blackmail case

The French newspaper Libération published this Thursday a survey on the number one of the PSG and the ECA Nasser Al-Khelaifi. According to the newspaper, the president of the club from the Parisian capital is involved in a case of blackmail, abuse and extortion against a Franco-Algerian businessman who allegedly had compromising information on Al-Khelaifi himself.

Tayeb B., this is the name of the entrepreneur in question, was arrested on 13 January 2020 in Qatar and imprisoned until 1 November of the same year. The businessman would have had delicate material in which the name of the PSG leader would appear as one of those involved in the irregularities on the assignment of the 2022 World Cup to Qatar.

The man, subjected to severe psychological pressure, was reportedly released only after delivering the documents to Al-Khelaifi’s lawyers through a confidential agreement. According to the testimony to the French media, the arrest was motivated, only and exclusively, “by order of the Emir of Qatar“. The victim of this event is a 41-year-old Franco-Algerian businessman who lived in Qatar with his wife and children.
