Alice Cooper on alcohol problems. “I loved my life and I hated it”

October 7, 2021 Alice Cooper published the radio play “Who I Really Am: Diary of a Vampire”. The two-hour material consists of music memories in the form of a podcast and new performances of rockman’s greatest hits, including “I’m Eighteen”, “School’s Out” and “Poison”. In the radio play, Cooper spoke in an honest and touching way about the fight against alcohol addiction.

The worst moment of star addiction came in the late 70’s.

“I was drinking more and more,” said Cooper. “I used to come to the concert, my costume was in front of me, and I remember crying looking at it and knowing what I had to do to make the concert go well.”

The artist adds that he did a lot to come to life in sobriety.

“I took a lot of drugs, went to specialists, tried different methods, nothing worked. It just got worse. I loved playing shows and I hated it. I loved my life and I hated it.”

As part of other extra-music activities, on August 27, Cooper released a coloring book focused on his career. Welcome 2 My Nightmare includes a selection of album art and other Cooper related art.

On June 15, 2022, he will play a concert in Charlotte Valley. It will be his only concert in Poland. He will be a special guest of the event Michael Monroe – a vocalist and one of the founders of the Finnish glam / metal band Hanoi Rocks.
