The Crown is the TV series made by Netflix and based on British royalty and is a real success, not only in Europe, but also in the United States. This TV series was born from an idea of screenwriter Peter Morgan and produced by Left Bank Pictures and Sony Pictures for the platform Netflix streaming, but what is it about? The story centers on the life of the British sovereign and her family from 1947 to the present day. It is one of the most expensive and ambitious TV series ever, especially as regards the scenography, costumes and fees for the actors, among the highest ever.
All about the TV series The Crown
The first season of The Crown starts from 1947 and tells the life of the sovereign, from the coronation up to the Suez crisis in 1956. The narration of the events continues in the second season where several episodes are told such as the perfume scandal, up to the birth of Prince Edward, the eldest son of Elizabeth and Philip. The third season, on the other hand, tells of the election of Harold Wilson as Prime Minister, the Silver Jubilee, the crisis between Princess Margaret and the first love affairs of Prince Charles.
The fourth season tells of the meeting between Carlo and Diana for the first time in 1977 and runs until 1990. The release of the fifth season is scheduled for November 2022 and will cover the time span from 1990 to 1997, therefore also the tragic death of Diana.
