In December, there was a lot of information about the AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT graphics card. Before the end of the year, most of the technical specifications were disclosed, and we got to know the NAVI 24 core structure diagram, which was the first of this family to be produced using 6 nm TSMC lithography. We expect the official presentation of the new graphics card tomorrow, but we have already learned all the missing information. The upcoming entry-level chip should be able to cope with new games in Full HD resolution, while maintaining the appropriate graphics settings. In the coming weeks, the Radeon RX 6500 XT will be competing against two other entry-level models: the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 and the Intel ARC A380.

The AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT will use a full NAVI 24 core with 16 Compute Units and 1024 stream processors. It will also receive 4 GB of GDDR6 memory with an effective clock speed of 18 Gbps. This is more than what has been suggested so far (16 Gbps). For this reason, the memory bandwidth will also be higher, reaching 144 GB / s (the bus will be 64-bit). The clock speed of the graphics core in Game mode is expected to reach 2610 MHz, while in Boost mode it reaches up to 2815 MHz. It seems that with additional OC there will be no major problem with breaking the 3 GHz barrier.

The TBP (Total Board Power) factor of the upcoming graphics card is to be 107 W. Non-reference designs will certainly require additional power. AMD plans to release the Radeon RX 6400 at a later time, but this card is to be prepared exclusively for OEM.
