An air bomb explosion at the train station in Munich. Four people injured

One of the more seriously injured people is the operator of an excavator overturned by an explosion.

Donnersbergerbruecke station is located on the main railway line in Munich. There were construction works going on there – digging tunnels.

During the drilling work at the construction site, a 250-kilogram (2) -gb air bomb from the Second World War exploded underground, the police informed. The blast wave after the explosion caused damage to cars and buildings within a radius of approx. 250 m from the scene.

Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann (CSU), who arrived at the scene, announced that he would expect a comprehensive investigation.

“The normal procedure at such construction sites is that the site should be thoroughly and thoroughly inspected in advance for any unexploded ordnance,” said Herrmann.
