With just a week left until the release of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part II remake on PlayStation 5, the studio has now announced that it will celebrate the game’s arrival with an official making-of documentary, Grounded 2. Free to watch on YouTube.
“Grounded 2: Making The Last of Us Part 2” (full name “Grounded 2: Making The Last of Us Part 2”) is the sequel to the 85-minute documentary produced by Naughty Dog for the original “The Last of Us”, which was released in 2015 Launched in 2006, it depicts the “tenacious development and unique philosophy of the first game”.
Filming on the newly announced sequel (as seen in the spoiler trailer below) began in 2016 but was abandoned in 2020 when the coronavirus pandemic broke out. However, the existing footage has now been re-examined and assembled into a making-of documentary, and it looks like it won’t completely shy away from the more negative aspects of Naughty Dog’s development process, including overtime – which, in a 2020 report, was said to This practice is especially cruel in the studio.
Grounded 2: Making The Last of Us Part 2 will be free to watch on YouTube. A specific date has not yet been announced, but Naughty Dog recommends keeping an eye on its official social media accounts “for details on when the full documentary will air.”
All of this is matched by The Last of Us Part II Remastered, a PlayStation 5 enhanced version of the critically acclaimed PS4 original that promises to bring technical improvements, new features and more when it launches next Friday, January 19th. Behind-the-scenes features and new modes – including a new roguelike survival mode called “No Return” and a guitar free play mode that expands on the playable guitar portion of the original game.
