Angelina Jolie wants to protect the bee population
The Oscar-winner has teamed up with French perfume brand Guerlain and will learn more about the importance of protecting the bee population.
In a video for Vogue, Angelina explained: “We talked a lot about bees and about Guerlain’s commitment to their benefit. Then we started to wonder what we could do to improve this situation. ”
The actress thought she understood the seriousness of the situation, but admitted that working with Guerlain was a huge lesson for her.
She said, “I thought I knew something about bees and beekeeping and I thought I understood the seriousness of the situation. But as you start delving into it, you start to learn a lot about it – for example, that 30 percent of the bees could disappear … ”
Angelina, 46, is known for her involvement in a variety of issues around the world, including educational programs and campaigns for women’s rights.
But many of the things she has dealt with over the years have to do with the environment.
Speaking of her determination to save the world’s bee population, the Hollywood star confessed: “What will happen when we lose them? What if we lose them all? ”
“As a young girl, I was not involved in ecology. I am more of a humanist. I am very active when it comes to political matters and the fight against persecution. But still everything leads us to the environment. ”
“Even displacements often happen due to environmental damage.”
