Netflix has obtained the film rights to the novel by Kotaro Isaka Seesaw Monster. Confirmed the presence in the cast of Anne Hathaway and Salma Hayekin the role of two rivals forced to work together. Isaka is best known for writing The Seven Killers of the Shinkansen (Maria Bītoru), from which the action comedy was based Bullet train with Brad Pitt.

THE details of the plot of the film they have not been disclosed, but Netflix describes it as “a two-handed action comedy” between Hathaway and Hayek. Olivia Milch, whose credits include writing, directing and producing dude by Netflix and co-written by Ocean’s 8, is writing the script. It is unclear who will direct the film. Anne Hathaway and Salma Hayek Pinault will also be producing the film.

Hathaway, Oscar winner for Les Miserablesrecently starred in the adaptation of The Witches and in James Grey’s autobiographical drama Armageddon Time. On the TV side, she played the enigmatic wife of WeWork founder Adam Neumann in the Apple TV+ series We Crashed (also visible on Sky Q and via the app on the Now Smart Stick).

Salma Hayek, who earned an Academy Award nomination for portraying famed painter Frida Kahlo in the 2002 biopic Fridalast appeared on screen alongside Lady Gaga in Ridley Scott’s drama Gucci. She has also acted in the Marvel production Eternals. She will soon lend her voice to the spin off of Shrek, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish and will star opposite Channing Tatum in Magic Mike’s Last Dance.
