The shooting took place near the Tomb of David, not far from the Wailing Wall, in the old city of Jerusalem.
“We arrived quickly on the spot – the rescuers explained -. Passers-by stopped us to treat two men around 30 who had been injured on the bus. They were conscious and were walking with some wounds in the upper part of the body”.
Meanwhile, in a hospital in Jerusalem, doctors delivered an emergency 30-year-old woman who was seriously injured in the attack. The condition of the newborn is judged to be serious.
The perpetrator of the shooting is a 26-year-old –
“At the end of a manhunt in which large forces of the police, the border guard and the Shin Bet (secret services) took part – states a police statement – the terrorist who carried out the attack on the last night. He surrendered himself to the police. He also handed over the weapon with which he carried out the shooting. “
According to the military radio, the man has been identified as Amir Sidawi, 26, a resident of East Jerusalem and holder of an Israeli identity card.
