The future of the Audi R8, as we know, is likely electric. In the meantime, however, the house of the 4 rings has decided to present the new R8 Coupé GT. This is the most powerful rear-wheel drive car ever made by the German brand. It will be built in a limited series. Overall, Audi will produce 333 numbered copies. In Italy, this supercar is expected in the second half of 2023. The price for the Italian market has not yet been formalized.
DESIGN AND INTERIORS
The new Audi R8 V10 GT is recognized by a dedicated body kit. Indeed, Audi has developed a special one aerodynamic kit in carbon fiber which allows to increase the downforce values. The package includes splitters, blades at the ends of the front bumper, side skirts, airfoils behind the rear wheel arches, extractor and wing with gooseneck mounts. This sports car can also count on 20-inch 10-spoke forged alloy wheels, derived from racing and can be combined with Michelin Sport Cup 2 semi-slick tires.
As for the interiors, however, we find black upholstery with contrasting red details. For example, we find the color red for belts. The GT logo stands out on the floor mats and seats. The serial number, identifying the model, is located in the center of the tunnel, along the carbon coating near the transmission selector lever.
Standard on this exclusive car also stand out the Audi Matrix LED headlights with Audi laser light, the side mirror shells and the V10 cover in carbon, the Bang & Olufsen Sound System with speakers in the headrests and the dynamic steering that adapts the ratio. transmission according to the driving speed.

ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE
The beating heart of the new Audi R8 V10 GT is a V10 naturally aspirated with 5.2 liters of displacement which is capable of delivering well 620 hp (50 HP more than the Performance version from which it derives). The engine torque is 565 Nm. The gearbox is a 7-speed S tronic double clutch.
Audi R8 Coupé V10 GT RWD sprints from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.4 seconds and reaches 200 km / h in 10.1 seconds. There top speed is 320 km / h.
The traction control, integrated in the electronics of the ESC system, provides 7 settings that can be activated via the specific satellite on the steering wheel: level 1 guarantees minimum grip losses, while level 7 leaves the driver’s ability to manage the exuberance of the thruster. The Torque Rear system, in addition to traction control, affects the V10’s delivery, refined according to the information provided by the sensors for detecting speed, steering angle, pressure on the accelerator pedal and the gear engaged.
This sports car can also count on carbon-thermal brakes as well as a front anti-roll bar in aluminum and carbon mixed with thermoplastic polyurethane (CFRP). The latter is equipped with longitudinal coupling arms in red anodized aluminum. As an option, stiffer springs and GT-specific shock absorbers are available with adjustable compression, rebound and preload.
