To talk about Austin Butler, let’s start with the emotional moment that he gave us on the Croisette in Cannes on May 25, at the presentation of his latest film Elvis by Buz Luhrmann, in which Austin is the protagonist: the passionate kiss with his girlfriend Kaia Gerber. They are a couple of hearts (and styles) of the moment. In fact, on May 25 the premiere of Elvis turned the spotlight (as if there were any need) on director Baz Luhrmann and on the whole cast, as well as on the Måneskin who, in their international dimension, were called to sign a song in the film’s soundtrack. The love life of the actor has always been in the spotlight. Engaged for years with Vanessa Hudgens, after some photos stolen today we have the certainty. His great love, as we saw in Canne 2022, is the daughter of Cindy Crawford, Kaia Gerber. Until their kiss on the Croisette, their relationship was top secret, and none of them had ever published a photo together on social networks. But already the close rumors revealed that the couple seemed very close.

In a recent interview with American Vogue, Butler opened up about his preparation for Luhrmann’s film and some snippets of his private life, such as the painful loss of his mother. With Elvis he shares this pain: “I was watching some documentaries and I found out that Elvis’s mom had died when he was 23, just like I did. I thought that he probably had nights when he woke up from nightmares like mine. So, for the audition, I decided to include this pain in my performance and practiced the tune of Unchained Melody, dedicating it not to a girlfriend, but to my mom. I wasn’t trying to sound like Elvis, rather I wanted to pour those emotions in the song”.With Elvis, Butler also shares great respect for actor James Dean. “I was obsessed with him as a child, his animal strength intrigued me. Elvis Presley is also said to have worshiped Dean, aspiring to emulate his film career before being directed to other things by his manager, Colonel Tom Parker.”
