In the footage sent to Lovin Malta, the film crew can be heard shouting ‘Action!’ before the scene kicks in. A series of explosions storm the setwhile actors and extras wearing what appear to be French military clothing pass through the area right by the Birgu sea. The exciting clip shows the tone and atmosphere of the upcoming movie, a real blockbuster. The sequence was shot last Friday.

The film, previously titled Kitbag, will tell the story of the rise of Napoleon Bonaparte in Francefocusing as much on his political prowess as on his many military exploits, all inserted in the context of the stormy relationship with his wife, the Empress Josephine, whose marriage was canceled in 1810 by Napoleon himself for lack of heirs. The screenplay is written by David Scarpa, who previously wrote the one for the 2017 crime thriller All the money in the world.

Napoleon will be distributed by Apple TV +, but doesn’t have a release date yet. For other readings, that’s why Jodie Comer left the cast of Napoleon, with her part of Giuseppina later going to Vanessa Kirby.
