Beijing 2022. WADA warns athletes not to eat meat

DISADVANTAGE recommended that athletes should eat only in places + certified + by the organizers of the games, who are responsible for providing meat without contamination with prohibited substances. As emphasized, in China meat is often contaminated with minimal amounts of clenbuterol.

This substance is considered to be one of the doping agents – it causes not only fat burning, but bronchodilation, i.e. an increase in the respiratory volume.

WADA’s appeal, led by Witold Bańkais, in a sense, a response to the warning of the German Anti-Doping Agency, which explicitly called on its athletes to avoid eating meat and looking for alternative foods in China.

Eating only in the Olympic Village, and not in restaurants in the city, shouldn’t be a problem during this year’s Olympics, for procedural reasons.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all athletes, coaches and activists, after receiving two QR codes confirming the absence of coronavirus infection, will be included in the “closed loop” system, which means that they will be able to move only between the arenas and the Olympic village in special vehicles. They will not be able to leave her until they leave Beijing, and breaking the rules of health safety will have serious consequences, including expulsion from the village and ending the competition.

The Games of the XXIV Olympiad will be held on February 4-20, while the Paralympics will be held from March 4 to 13.
