The city council of the American city voted on August 29 to name the singer honorary mayor. This is the day she happened, and the municipality gave her a key to the city. The ticket was only valid for 24 hours, but the 41-year-old artist was very sensitive to this honor.

During her concert at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California on August 30, the singer of Lemonade therefore celebrated this unforgettable moment, addressing his audience and thanking them.

“I’m so happy to be on this stage, said Beyoncé, reports Billboard. Your faces are so beautiful. You know this day is special because today I am the mayor.

“This is my gratitude tour. I don’t take any of this for granted, she continued. I know that after twenty-five years, I am still able to do what I love thanks to your loyalty, your prayers. I am so grateful to you.”

Michelle Templeton, spokesperson for Santa Clara, explained to Mercury News the decision made by the city council: “The city of Santa Clara is looking forward to Beyoncé’s upcoming visit to the famous Levi’s Stadium… Her concerts will certainly bring a lot energy and enthusiasm. And, indeed, it has led to international notoriety to the Californian town.

The singer is heading towards the end of the final leg of her world tour Renaissance. A 56-concert singing tour, which started in May in Stockholm, Sweden, will end on 1er October in Kansas City, Missouri.
