Billie Eilish experienced ‘creative powerlessness’ when she wrote a song for the movie ‘Nie Czas dyać’
The 19-year-old singer wrote the song with her brother Finneas O’Connell, but admitted it was not an easy process.
Billie said, “We experienced creative powerlessness as soon as we got to work.”
Finneas added, “We hired a studio to try and write this song – and we didn’t write anything good.”
Billie and Finneas, 24, eventually wrote the song on a coach in Texas.
Billie explained, “Finneas came up with a piano theme and we immediately thought ‘Ohhhhhh’ and wrote the whole song.”
Billie and Finneas dreamed of writing a song for a Bond movie long before they were offered it.
The creator of the hit “Bad Guy” told the BBC: “We always wanted to write a song for a Bond movie – even before that option even appeared.”
The star’s brother added: “We’ve been thinking about various themes and melodies for several years and thought to ourselves, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if we wrote a piece for Bond one day?’ When we found out that they were working on the 25th film, we immediately met Barbara [Broccoli, producentką] and we suggested that we could write this piece. ”
Finneas previously admitted that they were lucky the new Bond movie had just that title.
The songwriter has joked that other artists have not been so lucky in the past.
This year he confessed: “We were lucky because the title of the film is ‘Don’t Time to Die’ and it’s good material for a text.”
“I don’t blame Jack White and Alicia Keys for not writing a song called Quantum of Solace.”
