The time of heroes is over in Black Adam of the DC. Long before that Superman (Henry Cavill), Batman (Ben Affleck) e Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) joined together to form the Justice Leaguethe Teth Adam (Dwayne Johnson), enslaved, enacted a unique form of justice born of anger. Released after 5,000 years, the god Black Adam is challenged by another super-team that believes in the struggle for truth and justice: the Justice Society. “I will teach them that the only beliefs I fight for are mine,” Johnson’s anti-hero warned in a DC FanDome teaser revealing the formation of the JSA. “Welcome to the truth, justice and the way of Black Adam“.
The modern heroes of the Justice Society are team moral leader Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), new recruits Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell) and Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), and senior member Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan).
“We have Doctor Fate, Hawkman, Cyclone and Atom Smasher. Hawkman and Doctor Fate are the oldest members of the team, ”said director Jaume Collet-Serra in an interview with DC Nation included in the pages of the Black Adam comic – The Justice Society Files. “Doctor Fate is almost divine, so having Pierce Brosnan, who is so warm and sensitive, made the combination perfect.”
The team is led by Carter Hall, aka Hawkman, who
“He has a very strict sense of morality and justice,” Collet-Serra explained. “He is a bit of a scientist and a bit of a gladiator. Atom Smasher is a bit of a newcomer among blacks. He’s a very charming character, but he’s not even sure he’s on the right side. Finally, we have Cyclone, which comes from a lineage of heroes and has been impregnated with nanotechnology ”.
With the Justice Society and ARGUS director Amanda Waller (Viola Davis of Suicide Squad) of Task Force X in the mix, Black Adam “speaks thematically about what makes a hero and who has the right to define what justice is.” .
“Black Adam was born 5,000 years ago when things were very different, and he does things his way for what he deems right,” said the director of the champion from ancient Kahndaq, endowed with the omnipotent powers of the gods. While Teth Adam – reborn as Black Adam – wields his powers to take revenge, Collet-Serra said, “I wouldn’t say Black Adam’s moral code is questionable. I would say that he is not contemporary ”.

DC describes Black Adam’s cast of characters:
BLACK ADAM
Hailed as the slave who became Champion, the mortal slave Teth-Adam received the powers of the gods. When he used his powers of him to take revenge, he was buried and became Black Adam. Almost 5,000 years later, Black Adam is released from his captivity and finds his particular form of justice challenged by modern heroes in the form of the Justice Society.
HAWKMAN
In a suit constructed from gravity-defying Nth metal, Hawkman combines his physical prowess with a strong sense of morality. Instilling years of knowledge and experience into the young members of the nascent Justice Society, the man known as Carter Hall fights to protect global stability and will not allow anything or anyone, including Black Adam, to stand in his way.
DOCTOR FATE
Donning the ancient Alien Golden Helm of Fate, Kent Nelson transforms from a gracious academic into the sorcerer Doctor Fate. One of the founding members of the Justice Society, Doctor Fate is able to use his powers to wield magic, conjure illusions and see the future.
CYCLONE
After being subjected to nanotechnology experiments by evil scientists, at just 19 years old Maxine Hunkel is a force of nature – literally – with the ability to control the wind with her mind. As the superhero Cyclone, she brings a social justice attitude and a range of unique powers to the Justice Society.
ATOM SMASHER
Among the new recruits of the Justice Society, 20-year-old Al Rothstein is able to transform his molecular structure to grow to towering heights and become the superhero Atom Smasher. What it lacks in experience, Atom Smasher makes up for with brute strength and endless youthful optimism.
Black Adam will be in cinemas from 20 October.
