Blizzard will not be attending the 2019 edition of Gamescom, the video game fair in Cologne, to focus more on the development of video games.
No Gamescom in 2019 for Blizzard. The developer announced this decision with an official press release justifying the absence from what is the largest consumer fair in the video game world with the desire to concentrate the team’s efforts on video game development.
Blizzard plans to return to Cologne sooner or later but has not specified whether in 2020 or a subsequent year. In the same press release, Blizzard has made it known that he will talk about the titles in development not yet announced when the time comes.
The news of Blizzard’s absence from Gamescom 2019 comes after the announcement of BlizzCon 2019, which saw a substantial increase in the price of tickets justified by the greater number of events present.
In recent months, the reports have told us that Blizzard is going through a difficult time, between layoffs and an internal reorganization aimed at accelerating the game development process. In 2019 the study of World of Warcraft and Diablo will not launch anything big. The future of Diablo Immortal is uncertain as well, of which nothing has been heard even though it is practically finished.
