Borussia Dortmund fights to detain Erling Haaland. The German club wants to offer him a raise.
Haaland’s departure from Borussia has been talked about for many months. In the summer of next year, a willing club will be able to buy it for EUR 75 million. This is the clause in the contract of the representative of Norway.
However, Borussia does not give up. Its bosses regularly signal that they want to keep their biggest star. In their opinion, nothing has been decided yet.
The information provided by “Sky Deutschland” is proof of their faith. According to them, Borussia wants to change the terms of the contract with Haaland. Objective? Keeping him for the 2022/23 season.
The German club is willing to raise its player’s salary to 16-18 million euros. This would be a doubling of his current salary.
In return, Borussia would like Haaland to agree to delay the entry into force of the breakaway clause. The club hopes to postpone this provision until the summer of 2023.
Will Borussia’s plan be successful? According to the media, Haaland would like to earn up to EUR 30 million after a possible transfer. Borussia will not be able to meet these expectations.
The Norwegian is currently recovering from an injury. In that match, he scored thirteen goals in ten games.
