The 40-year-old decided after a few days to speak about the match in “Bilda” and referred primarily to the words of Bellingham, who stayed for them fined by the English Federation.

– It can’t end this way. Such a statement deliberately gives the wrong impression that I did not run the game to the best of my knowledge and belief. It is disrespectful and disrespectful, admitted Zwayer.

Even if you put yourself in a subjective and emotionally charged perspective, this statement is far from being any professional or substantive criticism. In particular with regard to the rhetorical conclusion regarding the present and the future – added the referee and mentioned that he expressed a desire to meet the English footballer.

– I would like to clarify this in a personal conversation with him. I offered it to him. I don’t care what his sentence was, but I want him to understand that he has gone too far. I would accept a sincere apology, said the German.

The referee also commented on the alleged setting of a 2004 match between Wupperstaler SV and Werder Bremen reserves, for which he was suspended for six months.

– I’ve never been involved in match-fixing. As a young man, I made the mistake of not reporting the incident right away, but only after too much consideration. It was wrong and I was punished for it – admitted Zwayer.
