The death toll from this afternoon’s accident on the SS626, near Capodarso, rises to two. The 66-year-old woman who had been transported by helicopter rescue to the Sant’Elia hospital did not make it and died a few hours later in the intensive care unit. The injuries sustained in the accident were too serious. The collision occurred between two cars and a truck that fell from the viaduct. The driver of the heavy vehicle, a man from Riesi, died instantly while the old woman was transported to hospital in critical condition. Her husband unharmed. Two American tourists traveling in the other car were less seriously injured and were transported to the Umberto I hospital in Enna.
