Calzedomania: the Calzedonia show in Milan

Calzedomania opened Milan Fashion Week, wowing its audience with a series of performances and a new kind of “Leg Casting”.

Intended to find the legs that would be in the spotlight, this casting appealed to both fervent followers of Calzedonia and those simply curious about the concept.

Calzedonia

With more than 570 stores in Italy, Calzedonia confirms its international charm in this very specialized sector: “legwear”. Originally from Verona, the Italian brand is present in 55 countries, with more than 2,150 points of sale.

In a modern mix of pop culture, Calzedomania animated the Allianz Mico, the architectural heart of one of the most futuristic districts of Milan.

Tights, the new accessory

It’s no longer a secret, tights are no longer just accessories. They embody the trends of great fashion designers. “Pantless looks”, popularized across the Atlantic and adored by stars, highlight a style inspired by lingerie, where tights are the real stars. No need for pants anymore. The items were first functional (comfort, warmth, etc.), but now they are also fashionable, which is why we participate in fashion week. “We want to be part of the fashion system. When you are so specialized in a sector, you have to be at the top of the game!” explains Sandro Veronesi, president of Calzedonia. “At the beginning, our tights were above all functional (comfort, warmth, etc.), but now they are also fashionable, which is why we are opening fashion week. We are asserting ourselves in this industry.”

During the evening, Calzedonia presented its magnificent collections worn during various performances. From key styles of sheer tights, paired with opaque or sequined panties for a no-pants look, to fishnet tights in varied patterns, including the super-shiny trend of 80s-style tight-fitting bodysuits.

The parade of legs

A highlight was the “Parade of Legs”, with women chosen during the casting in Milan, but the evening was also animated by exceptional international talents, including the choreographies of Kevin Vives, known for his collaborations with Céline Dion or Justin Bieber, and the ‘disco ball’ dancer Louise Kelly.

On the red carpet, celebrities such as supermodels Alessandra Ambrosio and Toni Garrn, fresh from her stunning appearance at the Venice Film Festival, fashion icon Ashley Graham and fashionable actresses Leighton Meester and Suki Waterhouse marked their presence.

A memorable evening, enhanced by surreal atmospheres and a host of stars. Legs in the air!
