At the Leopolda party for a thousand guests including Penelope Cruz

(by Patrizia Vacalebri) (ANSA) – ROME, JUN 08 – Giant camellias, Mademoiselle Gabrielle Coco’s iconic flower, pleated curtains and mega screens, for the debut in Florence of the Chanel Metiers d’Art collection, which parades in the underground spaces of the Station Leopolda transformed into a chic location by the maison, capable of hosting an exclusive party for a thousand international guests after the show. However, this is the second fashion show for the collection, already presented in Paris in December 2021 in 19M, a complex designed by the architect Rudy Ricciotti, located between the municipality of Auvervilliers and the 19 / o arrondissement, created to host 40 workshops of high craftsmanship of the maison and 600 employees. The ambassadors of the maison Penélope Cruz, Caroline de Maigret and Angèle are in the parterre of the show together with the director and friend of the maison Sofia Coppola, the Italian actresses Coco Rebecca Edogamhe, Linda Caridi, Fotini Peluso, Alma Noce and Caterina De Angelis. But the Chanel day in Florence began at the Florence Chamber of Commerce, with about 240 students from fashion schools invited to attend a masterclass by Bruno Pavlovsky, president of Chanel and Chanel Sas fashion businesses.

The collection, defined as “metropolitan but sophisticated”, is in fact contaminated by touches of sportswear and street-style, in a mix that can intrigue the maison’s new young and glamorous clientele, a target mirrored by the choice of the latest testimonials, by Charlotte Casiraghi to Kristen Stewart. For young urban-chic ladies, the collection includes the iconic tweed jackets, but reinterpreted by the creative director of the maison, Virginie Viard, with fleece sleeves and graffiti-style embroidery in colored beads by Lesage. The outfits that combine voluminous purple or royal blue knitted Bermuda shorts worn under casual coats have also been dedicated to these sophisticated customers. Over dresses in purple and blue knit are alternated with logoed dresses and precious coats. A flimsy outfit includes a black chiffon jacket and trousers, covered with multicolored feathers and embellished with a white camellia pinned with a satin ribbon and a jeweled belt with a double C.
