Cuba-born singer and songwriter Camila Cabello released her debut solo album “Camila” in January 2018, instantly garnering rave reviews. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 in parallel with the single “Havana”, which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Camila then became the first solo artist in almost 15 years to rank number one on the top three charts the same week. She also became the most played artist on Spotify.

During the Video Music Awards 2018, she won the Artist of the Year and Music Video of the Year awards for her hit “Havana”. At the end of 2018, she was nominated for two Grammy Awards, Best Pop Vocal Album (Best Pop Vocal Album) for Camila and Best Pop Solo Performance (Best Pop Solo Performance) for Havana (Live). The 9-time platinum hit “Havana”, released in August 2017, was the official start of her solo career after four years with Fifth Harmony.

Havana has become the most played female song of all time and number one worldwide. Released in January 2018, the triple platinum single “Never Be The Same” reached the top ten of the Billboard chart. Camila became the first artist in history, whose first two singles from her debut album became the number one multi-format singles. Previously, Camila topped the charts with MGK’s double platinum “Bad Things”, which generated over 400 million streams.

Cabello released the global single “Señorita” with Shawn Mendes in June 2019. The song debuted at number one on iTunes worldwide and broke Spotify’s record for the greatest debut of a female-male duo in history. “Señorita” was the most played song of all songs released on Spotify in 2019 and won a Grammy nomination for Best Pop / Duo Group Performance (Best Duo / Group Performance).

In December 2019, Camila released her second studio album, “Romance”, which went platinum. During the 62nd edition of the Grammy Awards, Camila gave a touching performance with the song “First Man”, during which she sang directly to her dad sitting in the audience.

Camila is the first female artist since Adele to triple in the top three charts. She is also an ambassador for Save the Children. This year she will make her debut as an actress in “Cinderella” (directed by Kay Cannon).
In 2020, Camila launched the Healing Justice Project together with Movement Voted Fund. The project provides grants for mental health-related resources to young activists and grassroots organizations working for racial and economic justice and country development.
