Cartoon of a British comedian imitating a football player’s celebration in slow motion

Britain’s Carl Porter has become a social media star after a snippet of his stand-up show was broadcast. A scene where he scores a goal and then celebrates it in slow motion has been viewed millions of times in a matter of days.

Some footballers have memorable celebrations, like Cristiano Ronaldo, Antoine Griezmann or Kylian Mbappé. But for the past few days, an English comedian is trying to steal the show. A football-related video of the comedian, from Salford near Manchester, has gone viral on social media.

During one of his shows, Carl Porter offered to imitate a pawnbroker and his celebration in slow motion. And if we consider perhaps the slowest goal in history, the video craze of this Mancunian quickly spread around the world.

32 million views and likes from Balotelli and Jon Jones

Posted to Instagram, Carl Porter’s sequence has already received more than 3.3 million likes, including from eccentric Mario Balotelli, who is a fan of the original ceremonies, or UFC superstar Jon Jones.

Above all, the video published by the English comedian has already garnered around 32.6 million views. All this, of course, without counting all the other media that were able to slow down this major goal and this celebration. If we didn’t know Carl Porter’s true level with the ball, the Briton would have already scored one of the most watched goals of the season.
