Change of the president in a state-owned company. Monika Morawiecka leaves

Monika Morawiecka has resigned from the position of president of PGE Baltica, responsible for the offshore wind farm construction program, the company said on Thursday. PGE Baltica’s portfolio includes projects with a total capacity of 3.5 GW. Morawiecka has worked at PGE since 2006. Privately, she is related to Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

As PGE informed, Morawiecka, which led PGE Baltica from February 2019, resigned on November 24, and will remain in the company until December 31, 2021.

Monika Morawiecka worked at PGE since 2006. From 2010 she was responsible for the strategy of the Capital Group, incl. proposing long-term development plans both in the field of conventional energy and renewable energy, and for regulatory management.

She worked at PGE long before Mateusz Morawiecki, her cousin, appeared in politics. – It never mattered to me. The reason is simple: I started my career at PGE in high positions much earlier than the prime minister started working in Warsaw – she said about their kinship in an interview for Business Insider Polska.
