Charlie’s Angels – Drew Barrymore returns to talk about a hypothetical third chapter: “I would absolutely be there”

Drew Barrymore has returned to talk about the creation of a hypothetical third installment of the franchise, exactly twenty years after Charlie’s Angels – Full Throttle.

Charlie’s Angels it is one of the most prolific franchises in Hollywood. After the TV series, which aired from 1976 to 1981, the public became fond of the adventures of the three protagonist detectives thanks to the transposition for the big screen, played by Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore. In celebration of the sequel’s 20th anniversary – Charlie’s Angels – More than ever -, Barrymore is back to talk about the possibility of making a third chapterrevealing – once again – that he is in favor of the operation.

Drew Barrymore he then confessed, during a recent interview, of not changed my mind and that I am still convinced of wanting to return to a – hypothetical – third installment of the franchise:

There’s so much spent there that it just wouldn’t be like making a movie. It would be more like, “Do you want to spend your life doing this? With these people here?” Yup. I would be there, I would absolutely be there.

The situation, moreover, is more encouraging than in recent months. Cameron Diazeg, she returned to acting after a break of eight years, sanctioning the end of what seemed like a definitive farewell to the scenes. The actress is in fact expected in a new Netflix project, with a prophetic title Back in action, where he will star opposite Jamie Foxx. At the moment, however, neither Diaz nor Lucy Liu have expressed themselves on the possibility of shooting a third chapter of Charlie’s Angeles.

It’s not the first time, however, that Barrymore has expressed the desire to shoot a sequel or remake of a cult film. In recent months he had in fact launched the idea – still not accepted by any production house – to shoot a remake of One ticket for two, alongside friend Cameron Diaz. In an era dominated by new adaptations and reboots, however, it cannot be excluded that at least one of the two projects wanted by the actress can actually be realized. Waiting for a third “official” chapter of the franchise, the phenomenon Charlie’s Angeles made a comeback thanks to the reboot directed by Elizabeth Bankswith Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott – Princess Jasmine from Disney’s live action remake of Aladdin – and Ella Balinska.
