Christian Bale has had one of the most prolific careers any actor has ever had since playing Batman. The actor has appeared in numerous award-winning films and has even returned to the superhero movie genre. But one of his most critically acclaimed films is surely The dark Knight for the portrait of Joker interpreted by Heath Ledger. Ledger won a Oscar posthumously for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film and it’s been 14 years since it hit theaters. The performance of Ledger it was so epic that it apparently made people feel Bale as if his performance was “boring” compared. The actor recently met GQ where he rethought his most iconic role and even revealed an experience involving the go-kart rather hilarious with Ledger.
Heath Ledger, who… oh my god, what a pleasure to have got to work with him and just see him, you know… and how much he invested in Joker. And I was watching it go on, yeah, it’s absolutely fantastic. Are we in trouble here? When Chris and I first sat down, we said it wasn’t the problem. What Batman is, is that the villains are always more interesting than him, right? And so Batman actually is very close to being a villain himself. So, let’s not let it get boring by comparison. And unfortunately now sitting there, go, I feel a little dull. But by comparison… because Heath was really good at that, but I’m so proud of that movie. I love it. The Dark Knight is absolutely extraordinary. You know, and it’s been a real pleasure working with Heath.
These were the words of Balewho also added:
He was a wonderful go-kart driver. Yeah, we went to go kart racing and man, he beat everyone and everything. He was fast. When we went to the track we obviously thought the stuntmen would win, but suddenly Heath wins, gets first place and then says quietly, “You know, my dad was a go-kart driver.” Very talented individual and a great soul to be with. Yes, I miss it a lot.
Bale and the return to cinecomics
Bale recently appeared in another cinecomic for i Marvel Studiosin Thor: Love and Thunder. The film introduced us to the wicked Gorr the slaughterer of Gods and reintroduced us Natalie Portman in the role of Jane Foster / Mighty Thor. Hemsworth previously talked about what it was like to work with Bale on set, defining it “Really scary”. Now the actor has detailed the complex backstory of the villains in a recent interview with D23 Magazine.
[Gorr] he’s not a direct villain… there is a real complexity to him. He is not black and white, what he is doing. He has a sincere motivation, which I think makes the bad guy more interesting. You may not agree with how he is acting, but understand why he is breaking point and why he has taken that path. He’s really challenging for Thor, because the series of questions Gorr asks have some truth — but he can’t let Gorr destroy the universe in the process. This, I think, carries a greater and not as predictable dynamic as the direct scenario of good instinct versus bad that we have always seen.
THE Marvel Studios describe Thor: Love and Thunder as follows: “The film shows Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he has ever faced: a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the Slaughterer of Gods (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlisted the help of Valkiria (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – in Thor’s service – surprise: she inexplicably wields her magic hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark on a harrowing cosmic adventure to unravel the mystery of the God Butcher’s revenge and stop him before it’s too late. “
The film is directed by Waititi and sees in the cast Chris Hemsworth in the role of the protagonist, Tessa Thompson in the role of Valkyrie, Natalie Portman in the role of Jane Foster / Mighty Thor, Russell Crowe in the role of Zeus, Jaimie Alexander in the role of Lady Sif, Chris Pratt in the role of Peter Quill / Star Lord, Sean Gunn how KraglinDave Bautista how Drax the destroyer, Karen Gillan how Nebula And Christian Bale how Gorr the Slaughterer of Gods. In addition to directing, Waititi also takes over the role of Korg. Thor: Love and Thunder is now streaming exclusively on Disney +!
