In October, we reported on a secret title headed for PS5 and according to the latest news – Square Enix is going to be working on Chrono Cross Remake. The game is said to be headed for Sony’s console, but it could also hit other devices.
In the October broadcast of the WLR FM station, information about a “powerful” production headed for PlayStation 5 appeared unexpectedly. The game was mentioned due to the development of the music – artists from Ireland were involved in the project.
As it turns out Square Enix may be developing Chrono Cross Remastered – information about such a game was received by Nick Baker, co-founder of XboxEra, who systematically presents behind-the-scenes information on PS5 productions.
“Chrono Cross Remastered was already on the Nvidia leak list, so the game shouldn’t come as a surprise – it was on this list. But I was told this VGC article is about Chrono Cross Remastered. What else was I told – since everyone works under the assumption it’s a PlayStation exclusive – [ale] I have been told this is not the case. The only word used is ‘multiplat’, ”said Nick Baker on the latest XboxEra podcast.
According to the informant, It will not be a full remake, but a “remaster”, which in addition will be available on various platforms. Insider only mentioned that the game will probably not make its debut on Xbox – he expects the title to land on PlayStation (4/5?), Nintendo Switch and PC:
“Now that I hear JRPG and cross-platform, I automatically wear PC, PlayStation, Switch, that’s my premise. This is not what I was told, this is just my guess. All that my source revealed to me was the “multiplatform”. That’s what they said, they told me this isn’t PlayStation exclusive. “
Nick Baker added that although the production is to be unveiled by Sony, it does not immediately mean full exclusivity. We have seen such a situation in, for example, Pragmet from Capcom.
