“Cinderella”: Camila Cabello’s screen debut without a theatrical premiere

There is only one exception to the deal that gives Amazon Prime the right to show this movie worldwide. The rights to distribute the movie “Cinderella” in China remain in the hands of Sony studios. This is a similar contract to the one that the studio concluded earlier with streaming services regarding, inter alia, the films “Fatherhood” with Kevin Hart and the animated musical “Vivo”.

For the titled singer Camila Cabello, the role in “Cinderella” will be her screen debut. The film will be a new, musical version of a famous fairy tale. The soundtrack will feature pop hits by contemporary artists and songs recorded by Cabello especially for the film. “Cinderella” is directed by Kay Cannon (“Guardians of Virtue”, “Pitch Perfect 2”).

In the official description of the plot of the film, we read that Cinderella is an ambitious young woman whose dreams reach much further beyond what the surrounding world allows. With the help of Fab G (played by Billy Porter), Cinderella will find the courage to make her dreams come true. Kay Cannon’s other roles are starring Idina Menzel, Nick Galitzine, Minne Driver, Pierce Brosnan and James Corden, who is also one of the film’s producers.

The release date of “Cinderella” on Amazon Prime is unknown, but it is expected later this year.
