It is not uncommon to find character names in movie titles. And sometimes even duets, like in this quiz where you will have to find the missing first names from these nine posters!
It sometimes happens that the main characters of films occupy such an important place in their storylines that their names are found in their very titles. The examples are numerous, and we could for example cite Léon by Luc Besson with Jean Reno, Brice de Nice by James Huth with Jean Dujardin (a film to which we have already devoted a quiz), or even Chloé by Atom Egoyan with Amanda Seyfried.
And sometimes it is couples, often become iconic, which can serve as film titles. This is for example the case of the legendary gangster couple who raged in the 1930s, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, whose extraordinary life and destiny were brought to the screen by director Arthur Penn with Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway in 1967 (and set to music the following year by the Gainsbourg-Bardot couple).
Another iconic couple, from literature, this one from the pen of William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet, the lovers of Verona who were entitled to numerous film adaptations, including one of the most recent in 1996 by Baz Luhrmann with Leonardo DiCaprio in the role of young Montague and Claire Danes in that of his eternal lover.
On the French side, the examples are also numerous, and we could for example cite one of the classics of the New Wave by François Truffaut released in 1962: Jules et Jim. The story of two friends who, before the start of the First World War, fell in love with the same woman, Catherine (Jeanne Moreau), giving rise to a romantic and sentimental waltz between these three characters.
These are other couples and duos that you will find in this quiz, one of whose two members has been deleted from the posters. It’s up to you to complete these nine film titles!
