Cristiano Ronaldo’s situation at Manchester United remains inconsistent and, after the Premier League defeat by Brighton, 2-1, the Portuguese ace broke the silence on social media. The Portuguese ace posted a photo of himself training on Twitter, with the caption “hard work always pays off” (in translation).

Cristiano Ronaldo started the season for Manchester United on the bench, after the soap opera about his possible transfer. The 37-year-old ace did not travel to the team’s pre-season citing ‘family reasons’ and, in the meantime, the striker was looking to leave the English club, according to the European press.

However, Dutch coach Erik ten Hag put Cristiano Ronaldo in the 2nd half of the match, putting the ace when the score was already at 2-0 for Manchester United’s opponent. With only a good performance, the Portuguese ace didn’t have enough time to make an impact in the match.

It is worth mentioning that the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo went to the bench at United is also due to the attitude that the athlete had against Rayo Vallecano, in the pre-season of the English club, in a friendly. After being substituted, CR7 left the stadium and didn’t want to talk to Erik ten Hag.

After the defeat, Manchester United’s Dutch coach even admitted, in a press conference, the mistake of leaving the Portuguese ace on the bench for so long, with the setback on the scoreboard. Now, it remains to be seen whether Cristiano Ronaldo will remain in the team until the end of 2022 or get the transfer until next Monday, August 15th, when the European ball market window closes.

United are also looking for a new midfielder after giving up Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong.

The Red Devils have had a £15m offer accepted for alternate target Adrien Rabiot, although the Frenchman is demanding upwards of £160,000 a week to join.

United are next in action on Saturday as they travel to Brentford.
