Cruella beats Cyrano at costume awards in Hollywood – Movies

(ANSA) – NEW YORK, MARCH 10 – “Cruella” beats “Cyrano” at the Hollywood costume designers awards, the Costume Designers Guild: Jenny Beavan, who dressed the cast of the film inspired by Disney’s “101 Dalmatians”, has beat Massimo Cantini Parrini, who with Jacqueline Durran designed the over 700 dresses worn by Peter Dinklage, Haley Bennett and the other actors directed by Joe Wright in the musical reinterpretation of one of the most famous love triangles of all time.

The 40-year-old Florentine and Durran are both Oscar nominees for costumes for “Cyrano” along with “Cruella,” “Nightmare Alley,” “Dune,” and “West Side Story.” Hollywood’s most coveted statuettes will be awarded on the night of March 27th.

The costume designer awards were presented in person at the Board Stage in Santa Monica. The over 1,000 members of the Costume Designers Guild chose the winners in eight categories of costumes in films, TV series and shorts.

Among the winners, in addition to Beavan for “Cruella”, were recognized Ruth Carter for “Coming 2 America”, Sharon Long for the series “The Great”, Marylin Fitoussi and Patricia Field for “Emily in Paris” and Shawna Trpcic for ” The Book of Bobba Fett”.
