Dakota Johnson and Sidney Sweeney look haunting as they pose in several posters for the upcoming superhero movie Mrs. Webber.
Johnson, 34, stars as Cassandra Webb in promotional images for the film, which is set outside the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The actress recently opened up about her sleeping habits and was joined by several of the film’s cast members, namely Sidney Sweeney, who plays Julia Carpenter, Celeste O’Connor, Isabelle La Merced and Taha Rahim.
Development of Madame Web was announced to the public in 2019, when screenwriters Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, known for their work on Morbius, were hired to write The script for the feature film.
Although the film centers on the Marvel Comics character, Mrs. Webb will serve as the fourth film in Sony’s Spider-Man universe, which kicked off with 2018’s Venom.
Director SJ Clarkson subsequently became involved in the project in May 2020.
It has been revealed that Johnson has been in talks to join the show in 2022 and play the lead role.
During the film’s casting process, actors such as Charlize Theron and Amy Adams were considered for the role.
Members of the supporting cast, including Sweeney and Merced, will join the project’s cast in 2022.
Actors including Adam Scott, Emma Roberts and Zosia Mamet have also joined the cast of the upcoming film.
Mrs. Webb centers on Webb, a paramedic who develops clairvoyance after a near-death experience and is subsequently tasked with protecting three young superheroines from dangerous adversaries.
The project’s crew began production in July 2022 and will film at multiple locations in Massachusetts and New York City.
Actual production of the feature lasted several months, with the team completing it in January 2023.
The official trailer for Mrs. Weber was released last Thursday, and Johnson later revealed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that “things take a big turn” for her character as her powers develop.
The performer went on to say that Weber “thought she lost her mind” immediately after the incident that gave her powers.
Merced also told the media that the character’s insights changed the course of the lives of her contemporaries.
The showrunner said the changes in Weber’s life will be “very interesting” and “it depends on fate.”
“Mrs. Weber” is currently scheduled to be released to the public on Valentine’s Day.
