Deathloop better on PS5 or Xbox Series X | S? Another video analysis with comparison – Nerd4.life

Also waiting for the inevitable analyses of Digital Foundry, we see a new comparison video a little more in-depth between versions PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S from the usual ElAnalistaDeBitswhich proves to be a bit more accurate than the one seen previously.

After the video comparison by IGN, we therefore see that of the now well-known youtuber which reports some additional details compared to what we have seen previously, in particular as regards the effective resolution in the various versions of the game.

As we know, Deathloop shows up with four graphics modes on PS5 and Xbox Series X, while there are only two on Xbox Series S. So let’s see what came out:

PS5

  • Performance Mode: Dynamic 4K | 60fps (1620p most frequent resolution)
  • Quality Mode: Dynamic 4K | ~ 60fps (1836p most frequent resolution)
  • Ray-Tracing Mode: Dynamic 4K | 30fps (1836p most frequent resolution)
  • Ultra Performance Mode: 1080p | 120fps

Xbox Series X

  • Performance Mode: Dynamic 4K | 60fps (1836p most frequent resolution)
  • Quality Mode: Dynamic 4K | ~ 60fps (1836p most frequent resolution)
  • Ray-Tracing Mode: Dynamic 4K | 30fps (1836p most frequent resolution)
  • Ultra Performance Mode: 1080p | 120fps

Xbox Series S

  • Performance Mode: Dynamic 1080p | 60fps (1080p most frequent resolution)
  • Quality Mode: Dynamic 1080p | 60fps (1080p most frequent resolution)

The Ray Tracing mode applies the graphics technology to shadows and ambient occlusion on the Xbox Series X and PS5, it is not present on the Xbox Series S, just as the 120 fps mode is not present here. Graphics quality mode increases the average resolution but makes the frame-rate more erratic, while the Performance mode does the opposite and demonstrates a resolution higher average on Xbox Series X than on PS5.

Generally, ElAnalistaDeBits detects a higher frame-rate stability on Xbox Series X | S versus PS5. On the Sony console, there is also a rather annoying tearing in ultra performance mode, in the absence of VRR.

According to the youtuber, the best choice is probably Performance mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X, while on Xbox Series S, Quality mode is recommended. For all the information on the new version, we refer you to the review of Deathloop on Xbox Series X.
