Demi Lovato has revealed she’s thriving in her relationship with boyfriend Jordan Lutes after resolving her “daddy issues.”
The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer — who previously dated Wilmer Valderrama despite their 13-year age gap — called her past relationships with older men “gross” during Monday’s episode of “The Howard Stern Show” from SiriusXM.
“I can say with certainty that my issues with my dad are no longer something that is in me,” the Disney Channel alum, 31, said.
“I think there are some signs of this. I’m with a partner who’s basically my age. I look at the past (of dating older men) and think “this is disgusting”.
Lovato further gushed about her “healthy” relationship with Lutes, 32, and her hope to one day marry and have children with her fellow musician.
“There’s this partnership there that’s so magnetic and the way we laugh together. It’s just non-stop,” she explained.
“I think if you can find someone who makes you feel safe, who you’re so attracted to, who you’re constantly laughing with, that’s the formula for a really good relationship.”

Lovato first met the Canadian artist, who co-wrote several songs on her album “Holy Fvck,” while working on new music last year.
“He came to write on one of my sessions and I was in the studio and I was immediately attracted to him. I like texting my friends and I was like, “He’s so hot!” “, she said.
Before her current romance, the singer had relationships with several older men, including Valderrama, who she began dating in 2010.
Lovato dated the “That ’70s Show” alum, 43, on and off for six years.
The former couple met when the “Heart Attack” singer was 17, but they didn’t confirm their relationship until she was 18. At the time, the actor was 29 years old.
About six years after their breakup, Lovato released the song “29,” which fans believed was about Valderrama.
Although she never confirmed the rumors, she warned other girls against dating older men.
“If you’re a young girl and you think it’s sexy or fun to date older men, that’s not okay unless you’re an adult,” Lovato said in an August 2022 episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast.
“I think sometimes the public needs the truth, and that’s why I decided to publish… (this) single,” she added. “I think the message is so important.”
In addition to Valderrama, Lovato was previously romantically involved with MMA fighters Guilherme “Bomba” Vasconcelos and Luke Rockhold.
She was also engaged to Max Ehrich in July 2020, but the two broke up a few months later.
