Disney + sweetened the violence of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier without saying anything, but that would have been a mistake

Some Marvel fans have noticed that the most violent scenes of the TV series have been mysteriously “cleaned up”.

A small case, unfortunately yet another for Disney + in the last period, exploded in the past few hours when some fans of the Marvel they realized that the bloodiest scenes in the series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier have been modified and sweetened from the original version made available a year ago, leading them to wonder if the streaming service is censoring its content without saying anything.

An example comes from a scene from the third episode, entitled Power Brokerin which Zemo (played by Daniel Brühl) shoot Wilfred Nagel to death (Olli Haaskivi), the former Hydra scientist who recreated the Super Soldier serum. The original version featured the lifeless body of the man with his eyes open and covered in blood. As you can see in the photo-comparison shared below on Twitter, in the censored version, the blood has been removed and the eyes are closed. In another scene from the episode, Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) throws a tube at an assailant, piercing him. However, the new version shows the tube bouncing off the opponent’s body.

Is Disney + censoring its content?

Waiting for an official response, assuming it will arrive, some sources were quick to report to the American press that the aforementioned censored version of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was accidentally posted as part of a system issue and Disney + is working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. However, doubts persist. Why is there a sweetened version and what does this mean for the future of Marvel shows on Disney +? Perhaps the platform is evaluating the possibility of providing its mature content in multiple versions in response to complaints – especially in the United States – that it is no longer a family-friendly service despite the presence of parental control?

In fact, we recall that at the beginning of the month The Walt Disney Company ended up in the crosshairs of the Parents Television Council, the well-known non-scientific pressure group that fights against the potential harmful effect of television programs on the development of children, following the arrival on Disney + USA from Marvel series previously available on Netflix Dare devil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher And The Defenders, judged significantly more willing and adult for themes and topics than the rest of the offer. And what would be the news, you may be wondering that on Disney + you have come across series like Pam & Tommy And A Teacher? While in international markets the contents for an adult audience are part of the Disney + offer but are intended for a specific area – in Italy known as the Star – whose usability is conditioned by the parental control settings, this is not the case in the United States. United, where the platform offers only the contents of the Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic brands, while allocating the more mature contents to different external realities, such as Hulu, FOX and FX.
