Al Pacino and Robert De Niro had already crossed paths on a film set. The two movie giants both starred in The Godfather, part 2, released in 1974. But the two actors had not shot any scenes together. Yet it was played by little, since Robert De Niro had previously auditioned to play in The Godfather. But the actor had not been selected. Heat was therefore the first joint shoot for Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. On the other hand, it was not the first time that De Niro reunited with producers Arnon Milchan and Art Linson, with whom he had already worked on The Waltz of the puppets, Once upon a time in America And The Incorruptibles.
