With the casting for Dunes: Part 2 continuously updated, Deadline revealed that Léa Seydoux she was chosen to play Lady Margot in the second episode of the epic directed by Denis Villeneuve. She will star alongside the likes of Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya and Josh Brolin alongside the recently announced Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken and Austin Butler. In Frank Herbert’s original cult-classic novel, Lady Margot has a solid reputation for serving the Sisterhood for every need.
The career of Léa Seydoux
If all goes as planned, his involvement in Dune: Part Two it will put another notch of success in the French actress’s belt. Films starring Seydoux have been absolutely overwhelming on the festival circuit over the past couple of years. This year, the actress was seen in both David Cronenberg’s sci-fi horror Crimes of the Future and Mia Hansen-Løve’s drama One Fine Morning. Last year, she landed Cannes for her roles in films including Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch, Bruno Dumont’s drama France and Arnaud Desplechin’s drama Deception.
As for the frenzied action, Léa Seydoux starred in the last two James Bond films as the secret agent’s love interest. While her name was already well known in Hollywood, Seydoux’s seemingly big success was with 2013 queer drama Blue is the Warmest Color, in which she starred opposite Adèle Exarchopoulos in the project directed by Abdellatif Kechiche.
Denis Villeneuve still directing
In addition to reprising the role of director of the film, Denis Villeneuve he will produce the sequel and act as co-writer with collaborator Jon Spaihts. Joining Villeneuve on the production side will be Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Tanya Lapointe and Patrick McCormick. The executive production team consists of Josh Grode, Herbert W. Gains, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Kim Herbert, Thomas Tull, Richard P. Rubinstein, John Harrison and Spaihts. Kevin J. Anderson will be the creative consultant. Although production has yet to begin shooting, the film is expected to premiere in October 2023.
