The untitled miniseries Orphan will center on a Midwestern couple who adopt what they believe is an 8-year-old girl with a rare form of dwarfism. “As they begin raising her alongside their three biological children, they slowly begin to believe that she may not be who she says she is“, reads the synopsis. “They begin to question her story, leading them to confront themselves with tough questions about how far they are willing to go to defend themselves, falling in a battle fought in the tabloids, the courtroom, and ultimately their own marriage.“.
The project will be written and produced by Katie Robbins, with Erin Levy as executive producer and showrunner. Pompeo and Laura Holstein will executive produce through their Calamity Jane banner alongside Mike Epps, Dan Spilo, Niles Kirchner and Andrew Stearn. It is an ABC Signature production.
